EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Academic Affairs:

FHTC faculty and staff attended ESSDACK (a statewide recruiting event) in Hutchinson, KS October 29 and 30. Faculty from Multimedia Design, Graphic Arts, Precision Ag, Power Plant, Automotive, Hospitality/Culinary Arts, Industrial Engineering, Early Childhood, Network Technology, Computer Program Design and Business Technology attended the event along with a variety of staff. One of the advisors from Hutchinson Community College had this to say about FHTC, "FHTC is the best! If we get a transcript from FHTC, we never question the courses because we know they are going to be great. You guys do the best job with students. If we don’t offer the program a student wants, we look to see if you guys have the program and we tell the students that is where you need to go.”
Industrial Engineering Technology students heard a presentation from Corina Snyder from Southern Star Central. She provided insights about careers in the energy infrastructure and what employers are looking for in new hires.
Liberty Worthen, FHTC librarian, has cataloged and organized over 500 book titles.
Kay Self, a LPN alumni who graduated in 1969 presented to the current nursing class and shared her journey with current students, bringing her grades, yearbook, curriculum files, and photos o faculty.
Automotive Technology alumni Lane Armour visited current students to share insights about his career as a Collision Technician with North American Tesla Collision Centers.
Nursing students checked blood pressures at the Flint Hills Senior Life Fair on October 15 and welcomed guest speaker Andrea Elwood from Hand in Hand Hospice.
Practical Nursing students joined the Walk to End Alzheimer's on October 4th.
Early Childhood Education students volunteered at Safari EDventure Day at Emporia's David Traylor Zoo. They taught area elementary students all about Nature's Builders - fascinating animals like beavers, mice, salamanders, birds, and bears that construct their own shelters.

Student Services:

Since September 29, FHTC has attended 30 College Planning Conferences.
Admissions director, Ashley Johnson, organized ESSDACK and admissions staff collected 372 inquiry cards, and saw over 5000 students.
FHTC hosted Apply Kansas for Waverly/Lebo, Lyndon, Marias Des Cygnes, and Burlingame.
Admissions staff hosted Quarterly Adult Education Tours with five attendees.
Campus visits and group visits were also conducted during October.
The Wrangler Ranch Food Drive is being held October 13-November 14.
The FHTC Health Fair was held on October 22nd. Industry partners representing healthcare, dentistry, assisted living and childcare shared their insights and opportunities with FHTC students.
Spring 2026 enrollment continues for new and returning students.
A variety of reports have been submitted at the state and national levels including Excel in CTE, IPEDS, National Student Clearinghouse.

Institutional Effectiveness:

Held a successful Criteria Walk with students, faculty, and staff. Currently collating feedback received for themes and action items.
Conducted review of course schedule draft for the 2026-2027 academic year. Have sent out drafts for review and will meet with programs in November that would like to request changes.
Collecting feedback from all stakeholders on the Assurance argument (Thanksgiving deadline). Also, in the process of collecting and organizing all evidence.
Preparing for annual Staff (Nov. 24) and Faculty (Jan. 8) Assessment Day trainings and review report development.

Marketing:

In the month of October, the Marketing team was awarded Silver and Bronze Medallion awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations. The Silver award is for Logo Design for the Advancing Tomorrow logo. The Bronze award is for ad design.
Ryann and Bethany are currently finishing up the college viewbook and have many other projects underway.
A Marketing Performance Report is attached, which includes analytics and data points.
