SUBJECT: Student and Instructional Services Report

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Student Success Spring Commencement was held on Saturday, May 20 at White Auditorium. Over 250 students received their Technical Certificates and Associate of Applied Science Degrees. The Dental Hygiene Pinning was held on Saturday, May 20 recognizing 16 graduates. The summer semester began May 30. Staff continue to enroll new and returning students and help students apply for financial aid and obtain textbooks. Several faculty positions were filled for the fall semester in the areas of dental assisting/dental hygiene, nursing, graphic arts/multimedia design.

Employee Support While we are sad that Bryan Crouch is resigning his position as the Director of Admissions with his last day June 20, we are happy to announce Ashley Johnson requested an internal transfer from the position of Admissions Representative to the Director of Admissions. Ashley's request for transfer was granted. Ashley began cross- training with Bryan June 6. The Admissions Representative position will be posted. Erica Clark, Director of Financial Aid, will begin working remotely starting in July as she is relocating with her family to Bennington, KS. She will be on campus every other week and during peak times (financial aid disbursement, audit week, meetings, etc.). The auditors have confirmed that working remotely is completely acceptable and in compliance. A committee reviewed and conducted an interview for the Dean of Health/Director of Nursing position. Several staff attended professional development meetings/trainings including the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Jenzabar (admissions and enrollment software) training/conference and an assessment conference. Kim Dhority attended the Kansas Council of Instructional Administrators meeting.

Facilities and Programs Several planning meetings were conducted related to the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in fulfillment of the FHTC Vision 2030. FHTC reps met with KBOR leadership to review our FY'24 Perkins application.

Partnerships The welding faculty, Kim Dhority, Chris Wilson and Lisa Kirmer met with the superintendent, the principal and the agriculture/welding instructor at Burlington High School to discuss potential partnerships. Altrusa donated $300 to support Julia Zinke, hospitality/culinary arts student, for attending the National Skills USA competition in Atlanta, GA this summer. Kim Dhority is a member of Altrusa.
