OC Academic Senate Meeting
This is our regularly scheduled Academic Senate meeting which is open to the public and takes place on 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month of the academic year from 2:00pm-4:00pm in Condor Hall Room 308 (CH-308).

OC Equity Definition
To dismantle systems that perpetuate injustice, Oxnard College actively takes an equity approach to all facets and operations of the college. Oxnard College defines equity as the actions we take to ensure that each student receives what they need to be successful and thrive through the intentional design of the college experience. The actions focus on centering the cultivation of inclusive and anti-oppressive pedagogies, self-reflective practices, and policies to provide direct support to students from historically marginalized groups.
Title 5 Section 53200 Definition
Academic Senate means an organization whose primary function, as the representation of the faculty, is to make recommendations to the administration of a college and to the governing board of a district with respect to academic and professional matters.
Academic and professional matters (often referred to as the 10+1) means the following policy development and implementation matters:
- curriculum, including establishing prerequisites and placing courses within disciplines;
- degree and certificate requirements;
- grading policies;
- education program development;
- standards or policies regarding student preparation and success;
- district and college governance structures as related to faculty roles;
- faculty roles and involvement in accreditation processes, including self-study and annual reports;
- policies for faculty professional development activities;
- process for program review;
- process for institutional planning and budget development; and
- other academic and professional matters as are mutually agreed upon between the governing board and the academic senate
